Damon Gardens Policies
When you order bearded iris from Damon Gardens, you are guaranteed excellent quality and true-to-type varieties. If you find any rhizomes are not correct as labeled, email us to request a free replacement. Likewise, if your rhizomes do not survive in the first year after transplanting, email us to request free replacements. After one replacement or after one year this offer expires. In order to preserve our iris clumps, we will not send more than 5 rhizomes of any variety to the same customer. We will refund any portion of your order that we cannot fill.
All orders are dug and shipped in early to mid August. Shipping is via USPS at a flat rate of $12 or free if your order is $60 or more. Residents of Wisconsin must pay state sales tax. Currently we only ship to locations in the United States.
Rhizome Size
Our Wisconsin-grown rhizomes are generally average in size. We cannot produce the colossal rhizomes that the Pacific Northwest growers can due to their ideal environment. If you want huge rhizomes, we recommend ordering from them. That said, we have many varieties that consistently produce rather large rhizomes in our garden and others that are consistently small. For example, rhizomes of “Some Like It Hot” are quite small in our garden despite being a Tall Bearded, and it has generated a handful of concerns/complaints from customers. However, it is a great bloomer, even the first year after transplanting. So you can rest assured that your order contains the best rhizomes from each of our varieties, regardless of size.
